Don't let my position title mislead you. I'm really not much of a practitioner of science. Most of my working day is filled with coding and troubleshooting. I enjoy creating solutions to data munging problems with interpreted languages like bash and perl. I write a lot of SQL code too. R has been in my tool box since 2001 or '02, because the graphing capabilities are far better than any language I've worked with before.

In my personal life, I am a social triathlete (see my website at TriRiot.com), and a filmmaker. Lately I've been using R to summarize and visualize triathlon race data. I've come up with some pretty cool ways to measure and visualize athletic performance.
