Ioannis Kosmidis
Department of Statistical Science, University College London Associate Professor
London, United Kingdom
I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Statistical Science in University College London. My theoretical and methodological research focuses on optimal estimation and inference from complex statistical models, penalized likelihood methods and clustering. A particular focus of my work is the development of efficient, in terms of computational complexity and implementation, algorithms for applying the methods I develop to prominent data-analytic scenarios. I also try to produce corresponding, well-documented, open-source software that delivers methodological advances to the data science community and beyond (e.g., the brglm, profileModel, betareg and trackeR R packages). I also actively engage in a range of cross-disciplinary applications with special focus on sport and health analytics. I am the founder and leader of the Statistics in Sports and Health research group at the University College London.
